According to Ancestry (though not confirmed on Scotlands People), husband William died and was buired 1st March 1839.

The 1841 census shows Sophia living in the West part of Hutcheon Street Aberdeen, with daughters Jane , (15) Ann (15) and Sophia (10) in George Street, Aberdeen, together with a son William aged 10.

The 1871 census shows Sophia still living in Aberdeen, now with her granddaughter, Sophia Jane Crabb aged 9
