I always enjoy popping in to your website. This time I started to read Tales of the Glens. I note that there are two possible Alexander contenders as the person described but I was struck by the description of his wife as a 'sanguine 18'. Alexander born 1783 had a wife called Mary Glass born 1788/9, so an age difference of 5/6 years which almost corresponds to the authors depiction of Alexander as 25 and his wife 18. The Alexander born 1784 however, probably married Chatherine Chree born c. 1766 which deosn't work.
