By 1930, the family have again moved, this time to 24 Guthrie Place, a beautiful home just metres from the beach, and on the same street as Meadow Court Mansion (now the Lighthouse Inn) which was originally built for steel magnate Charles S Guthrie. It was converted into an Inn and was allegedly a haunt of Bettie Davis and Joan Crawford in the 1940s.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Jane Allanach Clark of San Diego, Calif.; a son, John R. Allanach of Stonington; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Like his father, Mr. Allanach had a wonderful career building and remodeling homes in the area. He was a very loving and caring father and enjoyed life with his family and dear friends.
He was a member of the Brainard Lodge of Masons and the Road Church in Stonington.
