Arthur Allanach

When Arthur Allanach was born on 30 July 1885 in Monk Bretton, Yorkshire, his father, William, was 42 and his mother, Mary, was 36. He married Irene Allanach on 15 September 1917 in Surrey. They had one child during their marriage. He died in October 1926 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, at the age of 41.

Arthur Allanach died in October 1926 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, when he was 41 years old.

1891

The 1891 census shows Arthur to be living at 5 Walker Terrace, Monk Bretton together with Mother Mary (42, Widower, ‘living on her own means’), brother James (22), brother William (19), sister Kate (2), and a boarder Vincent Lawton (51), a colliery clerk.

1901

The 1901 census shows Arthur to be living at 61 Park Grove Barnsley, along with his Mother Mary  (52 and a widower), brother William (29), sister Eliza Jane (26), and sister Kate (26).

1911

The 1911 Census shows Arthur to be living at 46 Park Grove, Barnsley, along with his sister Kate (28) and mother Mary (62).

1915

When Arthur Allanach signed up to the Canadian Overseas Forces in May 1915 in Edmonton, he was working as a Stenographer

Arthur arrives from Southampton into Halifax, Nova Scotia on 10th September 1919 onboard the Adriatic.

On 3rd December 1919 he returns with wife Irene onboard the Empress of France into Liverpool from Quebec. The state their address as 216 Worple Road Wimbledon.

1925

A London trade directory lists Arthur as working at 38/39 Parliament Street SW1 as a timber merchant.
